Ron’s Books

The author (Ronald Staley) writes books about multiple subjects that reflect his education and experiences in a career that took him several different directions. He has worked in the music business, the gaming industry and the computer and electronics fields as well as in the area of mechanics (golf cart repair included) all of his life (and that’s quite a while).

Just out of college, as a technical writer, Ron discovered that in order to understand something clearly, whether it is an autopilot, a musical instrument, a slot machine or a golf cart, you need a clear overview of the subject. You can’t just jump in the middle of something technical without an overall understanding of its operation. You need to start at the beginning and work your way toward the end. This philosophy is expressed in his writing style, with clarity and explanation being a top priority. Working with something technical without understanding how it works is called crazy, not clever.

The following is a list of the books that Ron has published about Golf Carts, Music, and Gaming. The books are available through Amazon as Kindle eBooks or as hardcopies (in some cases). Why ebooks? Click HERE for a description of why and how they work.

I realize this is basically a “golf cart” web site, but if you would happen to have an interest in ANY of these books, just click on the links provided below, and they will take you to the Amazon write-ups about the books and of course, an opportunity to purchase one.

4 Stroke Golf Cart Engines Explored

4 Stroke Golf Cart Engines Explored: Suck, Squish, Boom and Blow , Staley, Ronald – Amazon.com eBook version

A while back, I published two books (in eBook format) about playing an electronic keyboard. In addition to my electronic and mechanical related jobs, there was a time when my wife and I owned music stores out in Arizona. During that era, keyboards were only on conventional instruments like pianos and organs. But, with the introduction of portable electronic keyboards, our whole world changed. The keyboards were much less expensive and quite frankly, could do a lot more to help the player sound GREAT in a much shorter time than the conventional ones. We (my wife and I and our instructors) had to spend much of our time showing people how to play them. Of course, we had to learn how to play them ourselves at the same time.

So, I wrote the two eBooks to provide anyone who is trying to learn how to play an electronic keyboard with the techniques that we used when we had the music stores. The same methods are still good today and the keyboards have evolved through the years to where they can even be MORE FUN than they were before.

I had several people tell me that trying to play a keyboard from music being read on a Kendle Reader or a smartphone just doesn’t work. So, I decided to combine the two books into a much more in-depth version and offer it as a hardcopy. The hardcopy is intentionally bound by a plastic comb so that it is easy to spread it out on the music rack of an instrument. The new version of the book is also offered as an eBook for those who like that format.
